A governed foundation for AI

AI can surface information.
Check the access behind it.

Microsoft 365 Copilot works within the information a user is already permitted to access. That makes existing permissions and sharing arrangements important.

If access is broader than intended, information can become easier to find. We help you review the configuration and governance choices that support a more controlled rollout.

Questions to answer before expanding AI

Know the starting position.

  • Who has access to business data?
  • Which controls are configured?
  • What do existing licences provide?
  • How are agents and apps governed?

Start with the settings and capabilities in your environment, then agree where deeper validation is needed.

Our assessment-led process

Assess quickly.
Review carefully. Act with clarity.

01

Automated assessment

Agree access and scope, then run supported API-driven checks against your Microsoft environment.

02

Detailed report

Bring the findings into a structured report so the starting position and gaps are easier to understand.

03

Review & prioritise

Review licences, available features and configuration with you, then identify the next actions.

04

Implement & review

Scope the agreed changes, validate the setup and arrange ongoing governance support where needed.

Automation speeds up evidence gathering. Assessment timing and coverage depend on tenant size, permissions and available services; some findings require manual validation.

Six connected areas of Microsoft governance

See the controls.
Understand how they fit together.

We consider security, data, identity, agents and licensing together. The review scope identifies which checks are automated and which areas need further investigation.

The six major review areas
AreaWhat we reviewWhy it matters
Microsoft DefenderAvailable security capabilities and relevant protection settings.Identify configuration gaps and opportunities to use existing protection.
Microsoft PurviewAvailable information protection, data policy and governance capabilities.Prioritise controls for sensitive information, sharing and AI use.
Copilot StudioAgent governance, authentication and supported connector controls.Review how agents can access information and take actions.
Power PlatformEnvironment settings, connector policies and governance arrangements.Understand where apps and automation can move business data.
LicensingRelevant Microsoft subscriptions, assigned licences and feature entitlements.See what is already available and where extra licensing may be needed.
Microsoft Entra IDIdentity, access and relevant authentication settings.Review who can access systems and how that access is controlled.

Capabilities vary by licence, configuration and Microsoft service availability. The report identifies limitations and follow-up items rather than treating unavailable checks as completed.

Make better use of what you already have

Before buying more,
understand what’s available.

Your Microsoft subscriptions may already provide useful capabilities. The next question is whether they are assigned, enabled and configured for the way your business works.

We review the available evidence and explain where existing tools may help, where setup needs attention and where additional licensing could be justified.

New staff, shared content, apps and agents can change your environment. Ongoing governance helps you revisit the settings and responsibilities behind AI use.

We can scope recurring assessments, configuration reviews and agreed remediation alongside your IT support.

An ongoing service can cover
  • Repeat assessment & reporting

Revisit agreed checks and discuss material changes.

  • Access & policy review

Review responsibilities and the controls in scope.

  • Business follow-through

Coordinate owners, changes and review dates.

Frequency, monitoring, remediation and support inclusions are defined in the service agreement.

Before the assessment

Your AI governance questions.

Do we need to be using Copilot already?

No. A readiness review can help before rollout or when you want to revisit an existing deployment. We agree the relevant services and assessment goals first.

Does the assessment read every file in our business?

Not necessarily. Automated checks review supported configuration and evidence within the agreed scope. A complete content classification or file-by-file permissions audit is a separate requirement to discuss at the outset.

What access do you need to our Microsoft tenant?

We explain the permissions, authorisation and data handling required for the agreed checks before connecting. Your authorised administrator approves access through the agreed process. Do not send passwords by email.

Can all recommendations be implemented with our current licences?

Some improvements may use capabilities you already have; others may need a different subscription or additional service. We review entitlements and confirm the requirements before recommending a purchase.

Will the assessment automatically change our settings?

The assessment and any implementation work are scoped separately. We discuss findings and agree changes before remediation is carried out, including testing where a policy change could affect existing apps or workflows.

Does the report certify that our AI use is completely secure?

No. It documents findings within the agreed scope and helps prioritise improvements. It is not a guarantee against incidents or a compliance certification. Controls, user practices and ongoing review remain part of the approach.
